We envision a world where all LGBTQIA+ people feel safe, connected, and empowered. For the last 50 years, we have worked tirelessly to help secure that future, supporting thousands within our community along the way.
Now we need your help.
With your help, William Way will be able to:
- Upgrade, renovate, and preserve the historic front third of our building at 1315 Spruce Street
- Demolish the rear two-thirds of the building and construct a brand new 10-story tower

Programs to Support Each Other
Our community-led programs offer informed guidance, empathetic support, and personal development.
For LGBTQIA+ youth, adults, and elders fighting to be seen, to receive care, and in some cases, to simply exist, the ability to access resources and make connections with supportive peers and guides can be life-changing.
These new program spaces will offer greater comfort and security to community members of all ages and make it easier for those we haven’t met yet to get the support they need.

Key changes will include:
- An expanded footprint for new and existing Elder programs, so you can access everything from social connection and cultural events to nutritional support and housing resources.
- More flexible and private space for you to receive essential, free, and confidential support through our Peer Counseling program.
- A serenely designed Trans Resource Center for gender variant communities and all who fall under the trans umbrella, offering access to opportunities, services, peer support, and more.
- A large and comfortable Recovery Room where you can navigate your recovery journey with the safety and privacy you deserve.

Spaces to Celebrate and Learn Together

Our spectrum of communities deserves a place to connect, celebrate, and learn together – to find common ground and explore divergent viewpoints, draw wisdom from LGBTQIA+ histories, honor the fight, and support and witness the emerging voices that challenge us to do better.
When people come together, our diversity bolsters our strength, our communities thrive, and our new leaders stand on the shoulders of their elders and ancestors, carrying their messages forward.
Key changes will include:
- More climate-controlled capacity for our priceless and growing LGBT Archives, to ensure their long-term survival, and to make it easier for you to access and appreciate them.
- An Art Gallery with flexible exhibition and reception space and secure storage, where you can enjoy visionary art of any medium, from prints and paintings to sculptures and installations.
- Spacious, accessible upgrades to our Library, where you can enjoy author readings, book groups, and comfortable seating areas.
- An expanded and updated Reading Room where you’ll have ample space to dig into archival and literary research.

Sustainable Initiatives for Our Shared Future
The Center’s long-term endurance is paramount, not just to our LGBTQIA+ communities, but also to the allies, friends, and co-conspirators that live, work, and play in our region.
We need to make sure that generations from now, we are still providing space and resources to blossoming social and racial justice movements, bringing intergenerational and multicultural groups together in celebration and conversation, and standing for love and solidarity.
These initiatives will allow us to strengthen our financial sustainability and safeguard our future.

Key changes will include:
- A new Catering Kitchen where you can access on-site catering services and nutritional support.
- A bright and airy Café where you can gather, eat, and connect with your communities.
- Flexible and multi-use Offices and Long-Term Partner Rentals that will allow your collective or organization to do its essential work in a safe, inclusive, and affordable space.
- Customizable Event Rentals where you can celebrate weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and everything in between in a bright, spacious, and undeniably queer environment.
